The construction laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

The heavy equipment operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and trucks used in construction, maintenance and repair activities.  WG Land Operators will also be utilized in Laborer functions when the job requires it.

This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector heavy construction projects.  Knowledge of PennDOT, heavy construction, and athletic fields estimating procedures including take-offs, price estimating and bid package preparation and submission a must. .
